Mike Kevetos: Owner/Operator


Michael Kevetos has been a professional musician for over 20 years, mainly as a performer and writer of original contemporary and rock music. He has also been teaching music for over 25 years. Michael Worked for Manchester Community College 2000-2007 Teaching all levels of their music theory courses. He has also been a private guitar teacher since 1989, opening his teaching studio Mach 1 Music in 2001. In that time he has taught more than 1000 different students and over the 50,000 lessons.  
Inspired by his students, Michael started developing a set of skills and tools for his students to use to unlock their creative and imaginative potential. He further developed these tools and skills with his children and their elementary school. Since 2006 Michael has done numerous workshops, presentations, and clinics with children of all grade levels. These workshops, presentations, and clinics range from creative writing, computer applications in music, song writing, and career and motivational/inspirational presentations.  
 
Michael has also been an “Artist In Residence” twice at the Philip R. Smith elementary school in South Windsor CT. Both of which involved writing original music with the students.  
 
Educationally Michael is a graduate form the Musicians Institute’s Guitar Institute Of Technology (G.I.T.) 1989. He is also a graduate of the Berklee College Of Music 2000. Graduating Summa Cum Laude receiving a Bachelor of music degree. He also received the “Quincy Jones Award” for outstanding musicianship in 2000 From Berklee. Michael worked for Berklee as a tutor from 1998 to 2000.  
 
Currently Michael is busy teaching his private students At Mach 1 Music. He has also started working for Manchester Community College again on a limited basis. Continuing to work on his own musical projects and performing occasionally.  
 
Beginning in the summer 2015 Michael and fellow musician Dennis Cotton started a Rock band class for kids called Rock Band 101. The class has been very successful and is now in its 3rd session and continues to grow.
